Role Purpose
The Head of OT, Manufacturing Systems & US Corporate IT is the enterprise owner of all technology that enables BYLDPro operations in the United States, spanning:
In BYLDPro’s startup phase, this role provides single-point accountability for technology uptime, integration, and reliability — ensuring that machines run, systems talk to each other, and people can work without disruption.
This role bridges Operations, Engineering, and Central IT, with a strong execution bias and hands-on leadership mindset.

- Operational Technology (OT) on the shop floor
- Manufacturing systems (MES, OEE, machine data, ERP interfaces)
- US corporate IT (networks, endpoints, local systems)
In BYLDPro’s startup phase, this role provides single-point accountability for technology uptime, integration, and reliability — ensuring that machines run, systems talk to each other, and people can work without disruption.
This role bridges Operations, Engineering, and Central IT, with a strong execution bias and hands-on leadership mindset.
- Own the OT environment across all BYLDPro facilities, including:
- Machine connectivity (PLCs, HMIs, sensors)
- Shop-floor networks
- Interfaces between machines and systems
- Ensure OT uptime supports production targets and OEE assumptions
- Act as escalation owner for OT-related production disruptions
- Own manufacturing execution and performance systems, including:
- MES configuration and rollout
- OEE and downtime data accuracy
- Machine-to-system data integrity
- Ensure consistent system behavior across all sites
- Translate manufacturing data into actionable insights for Operations
- Own and coordinate end-to-end data flows between:
- ERP
- MES
- Shop-floor equipment
- Partner with BYLD Technology (Poland) on architecture and standards
- Prevent local workarounds that compromise enterprise data integrity
- Own US-based corporate IT operations, including:
- Local networks (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)
- User access and permissions
- Endpoints (PCs, printers, scanners, shop-floor terminals)
- Collaboration and productivity tools
- Coordinate with external IT providers / MSPs as needed
- Ensure IT reliability without overbuilding internal infrastructure
- Lead the technical enablement of SMART BYLD initiatives, including:
- Real-time production visibility
- Status signaling (plan vs. actual)
- Predictive maintenance inputs
- Pilot smart-factory capabilities pragmatically
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable operational value
- Act as primary technical interface for:
- Machine OEMs
- Automation vendors
- System integrators
- Ensure new equipment is:
- OT-ready
- Properly integrated into systems
- Supported with diagnostics and documentation
- Support new facility openings (e.g., Ohio) by ensuring:
- OT and IT infrastructure readiness
- Manufacturing systems are live before ramp-up
- Clear escalation and support models are in place
- Stabilize systems during launch and early production phases
- Partner with BYLD Technology IT on:
- Cybersecurity standards
- Network segmentation
- Access control policies
- Balance security with operational uptime and usability
- Build and lead the US-based OT / Systems / IT support capability
- Define coverage models for plants and corporate users
- Establish clear incident response and recovery procedures
- Coach site-level technicians and super-users
- ERP core development or global IT architecture
- Finance or HR system ownership
- Business application product management
- Day-to-day production scheduling
- OT and system uptime across facilities
- Mean time to recovery (MTTR) for incidents
- Accuracy and reliability of production data
- Successful ERP / MES integration milestones
- System stability during facility launches
- User trust and adoption (low workaround behavior)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, IT, or related field
- 10+ years experience in manufacturing, OT, or industrial systems
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- PLC-based machinery
- Industrial and corporate networks
- Manufacturing system integrations
- Proven ability to operate in startup or scale-up environments
- Strong communication skills across technical and operational teams
- Experience with MES and OEE systems
- Exposure to ERP implementations in manufacturing
- Experience supporting greenfield facilities
- Familiarity with cybersecurity in OT environments
- Pragmatic, operations-first mindset
- Thinks in systems and uptime, not tickets
- Hands-on when needed, strategic when possible
- Comfortable being accountable during incidents
- Builds scalable solutions, not hero-driven fixes

- US Corporate IT may split into a dedicated role or function
- This role will remain focused on OT & Manufacturing Systems
