POSITION SUMMARY:
BYLD is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Preconstruction & Estimating Lead to play a key role in our project development efforts. This individual will lead project estimates, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help scale BYLD’s model-based, high-efficiency preconstruction process. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, is comfortable working with digital tools like Revit, and brings specific knowledge of cold-formed light gauge steel (LGS) structural systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop detailed project budgets, estimates, and quantity takeoffs from concept through buyout
- Author and leverage simple design models to support early-stage pricing
- Coordinate with project teams, designers, and engineers to align scope and cost
- Evaluate supplier bids and assist with scope definition
- Improve and maintain internal estimating tools, templates, and historical cost data
- Support preconstruction strategy, including phasing, logistics, and value engineering
- Participate in design development and constructability reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across preconstruction and estimating workflows
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in estimating or preconstruction (multifamily or commercial strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of Revit and model-based estimating platforms (e.g., Assemble, DESTINI, etc.)
- Ability to author simple design models for early-phase budgeting
- Experience with structural cold-formed light gauge steel (LGS) is required
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other preconstruction-related software
SUPPLEMENTAL:
- Place of Employment is located in Aurora, CO at a newly constructed, climate-controlled warehouse/office with amenities. BYLD offers a flexible work environment that combines remote and in-office collaboration.
- This position may require occasional travel and on-site work, based on project needs.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
- Annual Salary (commensurate with experience): $100,000 - $130,000
